Brief Biography

Kate, a former school counselor, is devoted to empowering highly impacted communities through access to services, education, and mentorship. As Community, Culture, and Outreach Director for IBS, she leads initiatives including recruitment efforts, student and staff promotion, and professional development trainings that emphasize community-centered research practices. Her work prioritizes cross-institutional collaboration and strengthens partnerships between IBS researchers and the communities they serve, ensuring research efforts align with local needs.

As Implementation Coordinator for the LifeSkills team, Kate assists schools in delivering drug and violence prevention programming for students. She collaborates with internal LifeSkills teams to design targeted tools addressing the unique needs of students in underserved schools during program implementation.

In both her IBS and LifeSkills roles, Kate focuses on building connections and systems that amplify individual and collective growth, empowering communities to thrive.
