Let’s Connect for Clinicians Trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Children and youth who have experienced trauma need the adults in their lives to respond effectively to their unique emotional, cognitive, and behavioral needs; this is the reason that caregiver involvement is emphasized so strongly in TF-CBT!
Our CU Let’s Connect Faculty are also certified TF-CBT Trainers and Consultants and offer TF-CBT trainings regularly. We know that TF-CBT clinicians are often seeking additional strategies for how to increase parents’ emotion regulation strategies and foster caregiver supportive communication and response around child emotional needs, challenging family topics (e.g. divorce, incarceration, separation, loss) and child traumatic experiences. Let’s Connect can be integrated with TF-CBT as a ‘strategic enhancement’. During this optional half-day of training, participants will examine how Let’s Connect is integrated with TF-CBT in a manner that preserves the fidelity of both models.
